As we entered into May, things became a little emotional for me. This was my first Mother’s day since my mom pasted. None-the-less, I decided to do what always makes me feel better - helping people.
We had a wonderful turn out for the Folsom Relay for Life, which raised both money and awareness to help support the American Cancer Society. As I noticed all of the moms who participated in the relay, I decided that sharing a little information on taking care of Mother Earth would be fitting. In addition, I can help you save money.
Around the globe, energy conservation continues to be a popular topic, and more tools are being developed daily to help you win. Newer technology such as fluorescent bulbs, which require less wattage, and energy-efficient appliances, will save you money over time and help you do your part in curbing climate change.
For this month’s Item of Value, I have provided you with a guide to conserve energy around the house. Many of these tips won’t cost you anything, and all of them will cut down on your gas and electricity bills. I know most of you are busy taking care of last minute tax items. I just wanted to remind you that May 17th and May 18th is the American Cancers Society’s Relay for Life in Folsom at Sutter Middle School. If you can, please come out and show your support.

As we move into spring, Delight Cleaning would like to share a few cleaning tips with you. As much as we would like to take care of all of your cleaning needs, we know that there will be times when you choose to do it yourself.
- First make a list of what you want to achieve.
- Assemble all of your cleaning supplies and move them with you to each cleaning area. This saves time, so that you don’t walk around looking for what you need.
- Try to clean one room at a time.
- Start at higher levels and work your way down.
- Remember to play music to motivate you and make sure you reward yourself when you are done.

I pray that you and your family are safe with all of the rain and wind that we have had.
Some of you may know that I recently lost my mom to cancer. She was an amazing lady and touched a number of people. In my attempt to help other people, I am working with the American Cancer Society to help organize their Relay for Life, in Folsom. The relay gives everyone a chance to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those who have lost the battle and inspire other to help fight back. Please check back, as I will post more details.
In addition to helping with the event, Delight Cleaning will donate a percentage of all proceeds to the American Cancer Society . If you would like to help or have any ideas on raising money or awareness, please give me a call or send me an e-mail.
